Role Summary:
Our company is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and professional Cannabis Sales Representative to cover Northern Jersey and Jersey City territories. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with cannabis retailers, promoting our diverse portfolio of products, and driving sales growth. This role requires in-person store visits 3-4 days per week, complemented by one office day at home dedicated to administrative and strategic sales planning. At moments there will be Grand Openings, Trade Shows or Other Events that will require your attention on the weekend. The representative will serve as the face of our brand, reflecting our commitment to quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Account Management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with dispensaries, retailers, and other cannabis-related businesses in the assigned territory.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, product knowledge, and brand loyalty.
  • Identify and actively pursue new sales opportunities to grow the customer base and meet revenue targets.
  • Store Visits (3-4 Days/Week)
  • Conduct in-person store visits to educate, promote, and build enthusiasm for our products.
  • Coordinate with retail staff on product displays, inventory levels, and promotional activities.
  • Gather market intelligence, including feedback on products, pricing, and competitor activity.
  • Administrative and Strategic Planning (1 Day/Week)
  • Work remotely to manage administrative tasks, including client follow-ups, sales reporting, and inventory tracking.
  • Prepare and execute strategic sales plans tailored to individual accounts and overall territory goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing and supply chain, to ensure customer needs are met effectively.
  • Compliance and Education
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with state regulations and internal policies specific to the cannabis industry.
  • Educate customers and retail partners on product offerings, features, and benefits while maintaining up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the sales manager and other team members to share market insights, report on progress, and contribute to the overall growth strategy.
  • Actively participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and other team activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a sales representative, preferably in the cannabis, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries.
  • Deep knowledge of cannabis products, trends, and regulations in New Jersey is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage time and tasks efficiently, especially in a field-based role.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory regularly.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales tools to manage accounts and track performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in outside sales, technical sales, or account management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals successfully.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to assess market conditions and customer needs.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on building long-term relationships.
  • Experience in business development with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM software is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading a diverse team.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
