POSITION: Event Sales Manager, The Postmark Hotel
THE ROLE AT A GLANCE: This position plays a key role within our hotels. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Sales Manager to join our dynamic team in Newmarket. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for clients interested in holding their social, corporate, or wedding events at The Postmark Hotel. You will be responsible for cultivating client relationships which includes conducting tours of the venue, presenting information about our packages and services, answering questions and providing recommendations. This role will report into the Sales Director (Events).
YOUR DAY TO DAY:
- Manage incoming inquiries; sends proposals and contracts according to hotel guidelines/pricing strategy, food & beverage minimums, and rental fees.
- Meet sales goals and KPIs.
- Manage a large number of clients.
- Participate in both inbound and outbound sales strategies.
- Assists in training for new Team Members.
- Be a source of mentorship and support for the events staff.
- Sales reporting.
- Conduct site tours of the venue for potential event clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals.
- Present information about event packages and services to clients.
- Answer questions and address concerns from potential event clients.
- Develop customized event plans with clients when needed.
- Handle any issues that may arise on the day of the event.
- Maintain strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple events at once.
- Actively participates within the Sales & Marketing Team.
- Manages events in the booking system to reflect accurate, up to date information/pricing.
- Attends industry events, including social and corporate networking opportunities.
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends.
- Other duties and tasks assigned.
YOU HAVE:
- Strong organizational skills and able to multi-task and perform in a high paced environment with competing priorities.
- Ideally has a minimum of 2 years working within a hotel sales team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Maestro, TripleSeat and AllSeated an asset
