Title: Commercial Lines CSR – “Account Manager” Commercial Lines Manager & Office Manager
Job Summary:
The Commercial Lines CSR performs the essential functions of the position, which include aiding clients with service needs and making changes to existing accounts; marketing responsibilities are required in this position. Meets service and sales delivery standards and performs essential functions to the quality and service standards developed by the agency.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
New & Renewal Business:
- Pre-qualify both new & renewal business according to agency standards. Service commercial book by making coverage changes using the Vertafore Sagitta database management system. Generate Acord change forms and transmit changes to the appropriate carrier, set suspense for follow up and process/ download endorsements from the carrier. Invoice and transmit endorsements to the client.
- Inform, educate & answer customer’s questions about policy coverage, endorsements, exclusions, billing issues, and new insurance coverage needs.
- Provide technical support to producer(s) to benefit clients and to reach agency’s strategic business goals.
- Prepare proposals and complete applications in coordination with producer(s); submit applications to eligible and appropriate carriers; review of all quotes for accuracy of exposures & coverages; obtain client signatures on all applications, TRIA forms & subjectivities for Binding; Requesting Binding from carriers, generate Acord Binders, Invoice premiums, manage funding of financing ; follow up with carriers to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies.
- Generate master certificates.
- Review and Processing of all policies, endorsements, and other related items; verifiestheir accuracy.
- Review contractual requirements when requested by client and assist the COI team withcompliance issues.Retention: Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed for account review. Remarket renewals, contacting clients, create renewal proposals, and manage otherrenewal activities in coordination with the producer(s).

- Renew policies following agency standards; verifies each renewal’s accuracy; ensures that all renewals are produced.
- Review audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
- Maintain and updates electronic and transactional files including notes & data maintained in the Veratfore Sagitta Management System and the Agency’s document system for storing all documents & emails.
- Verify policy and change information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
- Process incoming email requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
- Verify accuracy of all direct billed cancellations and takes appropriate corrective actionwhen needed.
- Uses agency credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments,requesting cancellations from the carrier according to agency standards.
- Determine reasons for requests for cancellations; acts to save accounts; notifiesproducer(s) according to agency standards.
- Process and follow up on cancellations request to carriers to ensure accurate and timelyresolution; maintains agency in financial equity whenever possible.Marketing: Actively soliciting increases in coverage or rounding out accounts through sales to clients; saving detailed documentation of all communications with customers, carriers & vendors Assist or complete other tasks as directed by agency management.Personal and Organizational Development: Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
- Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
- Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
- Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communications skills, cooperatingpurposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the businessgoals of the agency.
- Maintain up-to-date technical manuals and understand how to perform technical tasks toexpedite client service.
- Maintain State mandated continuing education requirements.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 5-year agency side insurance experience preferred

- Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
- Property, Casualty Insurance License.
- Full knowledge of insurance products and usages.
- Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations toeffectively manage, maintain, and write assigned client and prospect lists.
- Full knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets.
- Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures.
- Ability to conduct complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, and to accurately performsimple calculations involving decimals and fractions.
- Ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality.
- Ability to perform 70% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally andexerting negligible force frequently or constantly to move objects, including the body.May be asked to exert up to 20 lbs. of force periodically, as needed.
- Field of vision must be adequate to observe up and down or right to left while eyes arefixed on a given point.
- Ability to process written and other materials visually.
- Physical efforts required include fingering, repetitive small motor activities, grasping,verbally communicating detailed and valuable information to others quickly and accurately, stooping, reaching, standing, lifting light objects under 10 lbs. frequently, and climbing occasionally.
- Requires ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, perceiving the natures of sounds with no less than a 40-dB loss at 500 Hz, and 2000 Hz without correction.
- Working Conditions:
- Demanding environment with significant email, telephone, and personal disruption. Large number of multiple steps in complex system performed with accuracy and speed is essential to the successful completion of tasks.
