About the opportunity:
The Account Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the relationship with assigned Food Service and Dairy Regional Distributors as well as Food Service operators and contracted regional customers. The Account Manager is responsible for delivering volume, net sales and profitability objectives across all Lactalis branded and private label businesses.
The attributes we are looking for:
· Develop and secure new customers while increasing Lactalis’s Dairy Distributors / Foodservice Operators & Distributors business by entering respective markets and exploring all potential business building opportunities to grow Lactalis Canada sales volumes.
· Develop and administer new regional customer contracts and contract renewals. Negotiate terms and conditions (i.e. pricing, volume, length, exclusivity arrangements etc) and coordinate with senior management and legal to ensure alignment and implementation.
· Provide samples and perform cuttings with customers with various dairy products to analyze product performance. Maintain deep product knowledge to effectively communicate product performance and suggest product alternatives and adaptations to culinary process to improve performance
· Develop and execute annual business and trade spend plans for assigned accounts in order to achieve Lactalis annual sales volume, net sales, and profitability objectives.
· Prepare and present regular category and business reviews and leverage insights to identify sales opportunities and improve Lactalis’s category position. Utilize this information to secure new product listings or communicate delisting’s and provide alternatives. Implement account, category, and/or regional specific sales and marketing initiatives.
· Participate in forecasting and consensus calls for Lactalis produced or procured products to ensure adherence to annual plan and optimal product distribution.
· Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Credit department, and Distribution to initiate new business opportunities, resolve issues, and provide optimal customer service. Collaborate with the Sales Coordinator to manage administrative and reconciliation duties (i.e. managing discount, pricing, debits, rebates and deductions) in order to ensure timely an accurate customer accounts.
· Create Lactalis ambassadors to drive business and brand awareness and recognition.
What you will bring:
Education & Experience
· industry DSD Distributors preferred Culinary or hospitality background through education or experience would be an asset.
· Formal sales or negotiation training would be an asset
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong analytical, planning, forecasting, category management presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills
· Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and excel), PowerBI and BW/SAP
· In depth knowledge of Lactalis Foodservice and/or Distributor Sales products and business is an asset
