Job Description

Voyago is hiring an Operations Manager for our Checker Division in London, Ontario

Your Role

Reporting to the Vice President, the Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of the transportation of guests in and around the city of London Ontario.

  • Provides leadership and guidance to the Broker and Driver fleet, with responsibility for overseeing all functions and deliverables associated with the Checker division, including customer service, audits and account development
  • Plays a key role in the strategy and business development initiatives for the Checker brand.
  • Develops sales and marketing strategies,
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Operations

  • Collaborates on bookings and prepares customer correspondence for special events
  • Promotes and ensures compliance to City of London Taxi/Limo By-Laws
  • Completes regular Fleet Compliance Audits
  • Oversees the usage of ICabbi software and any additional technology

2. Customer Relations

  • Follows up with key corporate clients on a regular basis to ensure all is well
  • Investigates and resolves customer/staff/driver complaints
  • Responds to customers, such as: On-Line Quotes, Gift Card Requests, Service Occurrences etc.
  • Driver/Broker relations
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing customer relationships

3. New Business Development

  • Construct marketing initiatives in concert with the Division Managers
  • Develop presentation materials for cold calls as well as proposals/quotations
  • Maintain and update RFP material and core competencies relevant to each division
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of a Business Plan including Marketing and Sales strategies for both long and short-term goals
  • Represent Voyago and Checker with potential and new customers in the community and in the industry
  • Identify trends by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements

4. Special Events and Promotions

  • Attend industry functions such as association events and conferences
  • Organize company representation, promotional material etc. at special events
  • Liaise with key contacts regarding opportunities for contra i.e. radio, charity etc.

5. Other

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Have a solid working knowledge of the Vehicle for Hire industry and be current on any relevant legislative changes affecting Voyago and Checker, including but not limited to City by-laws and MTO guidelines.

Requirements

Your Profile:

  • You have a University or College Degree or Equivalent in a Business related field
  • You bring 4+ years experience within the vehicle for hire and/or tourism or hospitality centered industry or similar business related area
  • You are familiar with the City of London and surrounding regions
  • You posses a clean Drivers Abstract and minimum full G licence
  • You have a demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization
  • You bring a proven ability to drive outstanding customer service
  • You are able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and outside regular business hours
  • You are self-motivated and have excellent time management skills
  • You posses professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • You hold a high degree of dependability and competency
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office
  • You posses a clean Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector
