Currently our client's key customers reside in the Pulp and Pater, Mining, Cement, Sawmills, Biomass and Asphalt industries.

As a result of their continued and rapid growth and success, they're seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Sales Director who will spearhead all growth initiatives to expand their market presence, products and services, and drive ambitious revenue growth.

Position Overview:

As a result of continued growth our client is seeking an ambitious and visionary Sales Leader to spearhead all North American business growth initiatives. This role will encompass strategic leadership of the sales and marketing team, comprehensive sales management and proactive business development tactics to ensure the achievement of all growth plans within the markets they serve.

The ideal candidate will not only drive new business growth but also cultivate long lasting client relationships within new and existing markets. You'll serve as a member of the senior management team working collaboratively with all key team members in both support and leadership roles and embrace a team first approach.

What You'll Do:

As Director of Sales, you'll be responsible for the following focus areas:

Sales Management and Strategic Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire a dynamic sales team, empowering them to exceed growth targets.
  • Develop effective sales strategies, leveraging market insights and customer feedback.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to Sales and support Teams.
  • Drive innovation and identify new opportunities for product development and expansion.

Sales Operations and Performance Optimization:

  • Oversee pipeline management to order fulfillment, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to drive continuous optimization.
  • Champion the adoption of sales enablement tools and technologies including CRM.

Market Insights and Trend Analysis:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to anticipate changes and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify customer needs, pain points, and preferences, informing strategic decision-making and product/service development.

Sales Training and Development:

  • Drive ongoing training and development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the sales team, ensuring the ability to deliver exceptional value to customers.

Performance Metrics and KPIs:

  • Define clear and actionable performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPls) to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and measure progress towards goals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and analysis to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Thought Leadership and Industry Presence:

  • Position yourself and the company as thought leaders within the industry by participating in conferences, speaking engagements, and industry forums.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in sales leadership, with a preference for experience in manufacturing and distribution of industrial products.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Proven negotiating skills
