Founded in 1922, Van Beest is the leading manufacturer of premium quality lifting and lashing fittings such as Green Pin® shackles and hooks, sold in more than 90 countries around the globe through a network of authorized distributors. Irizar Forge, founded in 1923 and part of the Van Beest Group, offers standard & project based Lifting & Rigging components for Onshore & Offshore Cranes such as forged hooks & crane hookblocks for top site & ROV versions for subsea applications, and mooring chain connectors such as shackles, H-Y Links, Swivels and KS hooks for long term mooring projects. Green Pin® and Irizar Forge products are used in industries such as oil & gas, wind power, mining, steel, foundries, maritime, fishing, construction and offshore installations. Van Beest has head office in The Netherlands, and subsidiaries in Germany, France, USA, and Brazil. Irizar Forge and Sling Int. are located in Basque Country in Spain.


We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to fulfill the position of Logistics Manager for the North American market. Below responsibilities will be fore both Houston and Chicago operations. Position is based in Houston.


Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse operations e.g. inbound process, inventory management (cycle count, shortages etc) , order fulfilment, and space utilization act as a backup for the warehouse manager;
  • Oversee the transportation of goods, including inbound shipments, outbound shipments, managing carriers, and negotiating freight rates and managing returns;
  • Lead and motivate a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching and performance management;
  • Supervision of safety compliance and health and safety rules;
  • Maintain key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement;
  • Point of contact for USA (inside)sales team on availability of material, certificates and backorders and get an understanding of market developments, leads, trends etc;
  • Closely collaborate with the Corporate Supply Chain team (purchasing, demand planning, inventory management) on forecasting and demand planning to meet customer requirements;
  • Responsible for the maintenance of ISO certification (QA - Quality Assurance) & QC (Quality Control) (goods inspection, manage non conformities) in cooperation with Corporate Quality Department;
  • Responsible for equipment and building maintenance (e.g. forklift and reach trucks, racking, warehouse and office building) including ordering consumables such as packing materials.

  • Affinity with IT systems (experience with SAP is a big plus).
