Job Description
The Data Analytics Intern will assist the team in analyzing and interpreting sales performance by geography, brand and product type and provide recommendations on areas of opportunity to the Management team including Senior Leaders. This role focuses on providing rich and actionable insights on sales data to increase productivity and effectiveness of the Canadian sales teams. This includes responsibility for managing various sales and account system activities to ensure operational efficiency.
What You'll do
- Design and produce in depth sales reports on a daily/weekly/monthly/annual basis.
- Perform analysis by individual Account Managers (AM), teams and regions by customer, category, vendor or other criteria to identify opportunities and make recommendations to sales leadership
- Consult with sales leadership to identify standard reports and frequency in addition to reviewing ad hoc requests for reporting and analysis
- Perform department and account management activities to ensure accurate and efficient system utilization.
- Report data using SQL Server Management Studio and Pyramid Analytics in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment
- Perform account coding at the AM and FAE level
- Create departments in our internal systems and liaise with corporate systems to ensure alignment
- Various administrative functions supporting sales activities
- Support projects and process improvement as required
Other Responsibilities
- Evaluate ways to improve processes to streamline data delivery
- Serve as a subject matter expert on sales data reporting systems and capabilities
- Liaise with internal Canadian departments such as Sales, Finance and Purchasing as well as Sales Operations, Sales support, Sales optimization and Sales Analytics.
- The 2024 Summer Internship Program will run from May 2024 to August 2024
What we're looking for:
- Students or New Grads with the graduation date of 2023-2024 enrolled in Business
- Fundamental knowledge of Python, SQL and Power BI
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Self-motivated and results-driven individual who will make an impact while utilizing strong written and verbal skills to communicate effectively
- Team oriented and able to develop positive relationships with coworkers and other partners involved
- Strong presentation skills, including ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Microsoft Office skills including, but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Word
- Availability to work a 40-hour week within standard business hours throughout the summer
- Authorization to work in Canada; without sponsorship as a full-time coworker
