Responsibilities
- Design a business development plan for the industry under his or her responsibility to build a network of clients and prospects via the following activities:
- Implement a direct solicitation approach for prospects/stakeholders/clients.
- Become an active member of industry associations.
- Get references from clients and other association stakeholders.
- Target client and prospect needs and anticipate how their situations may evolve, recommend strategies adapted to their needs.
- Carry out preliminary risk analyses to ensure that financing structures are consistent with the Bank’s policies, programs and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Underwriters in credit underwriting.
- Ensure that terms and conditions are met (credit risk control).
- Maintain a high level of quality and portfolio performance (profitability and quality).
- Work closely with other stakeholders in the business unit.
- Ensure the Bank’s visibility in the industry under his or her responsibility by representing the organization and promoting the Bank’s image, in addition to developing and maintaining business relationships with current and potential clients and influential people, etc.
- Be on the look-out for industry trends and changes in legislation to ensure that current practices are up to date.
- Formulate recommendations to improve work processes.
- Perform all tasks of similar or general nature requested by his or her superior or required for the job.
Qualifications
- University degree in an appropriate finance-related field, and 5+ years of experience
- Team player
- Spoken and written communication skills, French and English*
- Financial analysis skills
- Summarizing skills
- Autonomy, initiative and capacity for peer- and self-learning
- Ability to manage several projects in a fast-paced work environment
- Professional working proficiency in French and English languages preferred as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
