We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director of Sales and Strategic Growth Initiatives to lead our sales efforts focused on Canada’s largest banks and D&D’s most strategic relationships. Reporting to the VP Sales and Customer Engagement, this role will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and driving growth in key accounts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the banking sector, a strong track record in B2B sales, and the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with decision-makers at large financial institutions.


Key Responsibilities


  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and implement sales strategies targeting large banks to drive revenue growth. Identify market trends and opportunities to expand the company’s footprint in the banking sector.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders at top-tier financial institutions, including C-suite executives, senior leaders, and decision-makers. Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis to understand the needs, pain points, and competitive landscape of large banks. Leverage this insight to craft tailored solutions and compelling sales presentations.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to develop customized solutions and go-to-market strategies for large banking clients and industry ecosystem
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate new partnerships within the banking ecosystem, including fintech companies, technology providers, and other industry influencers.
  • Contract Negotiations & Closing: Lead the negotiation of complex contracts and agreements with large banking clients, ensuring favorable terms and long-term partnerships.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Provide regular updates to the executive team on sales performance, pipeline status, and key developments. Use data and analytics to track progress and refine strategies

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


  • 10+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a strong focus on the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven track record of selling complex solutions to large banking clients, with a history of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Deep understanding of the banking industry's challenges, trends, and regulatory environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to navigate long sales cycles and effectively manage multiple large accounts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with SaaS or technology-driven solutions in the banking sector.
  • Experience with lending and payments solutions.
  • Established network within the banking industry.
