POSITION SUMMARY:

The Specialized Fluid Manager and Technical Supervisor will be responsible for, but not limited to, coordinating communication between all dispatchers and the field for Fluid Operations. The Specialized Fluid Manager will understand all facets of the dispatch system and ensure all drivers are familiar with procedures.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The key duties and responsibilities of the Specialized Fluid Manager and Technical Supervisor in conjunction with their Dispatch staff are:

  • Provide statistics for both Operations and Safety KPI’s as required.
  • Review time sheets in Field cap daily for direct reports (i.e., Dispatch and Supervisors).
  • Work with Safety on completion of BBO’s and OJT’s to resolve complacency issues.
  • Review OJT’s and communicate any issues to Safety.
  • Ensure company priorities are communicated and addressed.
  • Implement Daily Huddles and hold reports accountable to participate.
  • Perform one on one’s with drivers and maintain a positive professional relationship within the at Heating & Well Servicing / Hot Oiler Division all times.
  • Ensure rates are monitored and reviewed for Specialized Fluids, combo vacs and chemical cleaning as a whole.
  • Ensure all drivers receive complete and adequate Journey Management.
  • Ensure proper, agreed upon, process is adhered to and enforced (i.e. Disciplinary process).
  • Ensure all chargebacks are included in all tickets (i.e. chemicals).
  • Book and ensure re-certification’s for SCBA requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure Supervisor Training and Certifications are up to date and accurate.
  • Regularly review GLs and reduce costs with all Manager reports.
  • Work with Shop Foreman to determine priority jobs to ensure all trucks are repaired and are ready to be on the road. Work with Shop Foreman to limit truck downtime. Work with shop to ensure GPS in all units is working and being fully utilized.
  • Improve communication between Shop and Dispatch and among Drivers, Supervisors, Dispatch and Sales.
  • Develop “Job Board” to communicate upcoming work to drivers and coordinate days off.
  • Work with HR and communicate number of drivers needed, when needed, and specific job requirements.
  • Ensure pre-trip truck inspections are completed in the yard by all drivers.
  • Encourage chargeable hours and minimize non chargeable hours for drivers.
  • Work with customers to solicit feedback on company performance.
  • Work with Solution Services sales staff to determine upcoming work demands and where to place trucks.
  • Ensure equipment binders are up to date, complete, etc.
  • Coordinate with others in operations, shop, and finance to ensure all new trucks are quickly and efficiently ready for to operate.
  • Utilization tracking to meet operational requirements. The above will drive most of the Specialized Fluid Manager role. For example, the number of drivers vs number of trucks will need to be managed. Specialized Fluid Manager will need to work with HR to determine number of drivers needed, when needed, etc.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum five (5) or more years experience Fluid operations, combo vacs and chemical cleaning
  • Proven knowledge and operational skills in the Trucking Industry
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
  • Holds a clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Maintains a high level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Maintains a well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time salaried position. Standard hours of work may vary but will follow a shift schedule. On-call responsibilities will be required, as well as overtime hours as required.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Ft-Saskatchwn, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • oil and gas: 5 years (required)
