Elora Mill Hotel & Spa is nestled in the heart of Elora set alongside the Grand River. We are a unique luxury property that offers a special escape for all of our guests. Join our Event Sales Team and help to create wonderful experiences for all of our event guests.

The Director of Sales oversees the day-to-day management of the Sales Office, working directly with both the Pearle weddings and Elora Mill team. They ensure that the team is always adhering to Pearle Standards and working to meet or exceed the expectations of our clients as well as our sales objectives. The Director of Sales is an active member of the senior management team and is a master of change management, looking to develop as the property continues to grow. Guest focused, with a strong emphasis on event details to ensure flawless execution, the Director of Sales works tirelessly to increase event sales and promote return business.

What makes you the perfect candidate:

  • You have 3-5 years of experience as a hotel Sales Manager or Director.
  • You have a strong understanding of banquets/events operations.
  • You are passionate about guest service and selling weddings.
  • Strong financial planning, revenue management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.
  • Proven ability to assess/evaluate, supervise, motivate, recruit, train and retain a sales team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive sales and marketing plan to ensure that Elora Mill is known as a premier destination for corporate and wedding business.
  • Utilize planning to clearly define hotel sales objectives in support of financial goals.
  • Develop plans accounting for future growth of the Elora Mill property and team. Always keeping an eye on what is to come.
  • Accountable for actively soliciting/pursuing business revenue goals and leading the sales team to do the same.
  • Actively manage incoming leads for social and corporate markets and take an active selling role.
  • Expertly conduct first wedding appointments, completing all necessary follow up and using effective sales techniques to solidify bookings.
  • Prepare for client meetings by creating proposals, event ideas and suggestions based on any available information regarding budget or preferences.
  • Proactively position and market the hotel by effective revenue/yield management to achieve maximum RevPAR and market share.
  • Responsible for utilizing sales tools/systems to accurately identify, report, forecast and communicate sales data. Ensure integrity of hotel sales data and other market intelligence in order to drive business. Develop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management.
  • Maintain acute awareness of our competitive market and the positioning of the hotel.
  • Accountable for guest satisfaction by developing and maintaining long-term, value-based client relationships. Ensure effective communication with clients throughout the sales process (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence).
  • Develop strong community and public relations by maintaining property participation in local, regional and national tradeshows and client events.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching, training, discipline and development of sales employees. Evaluate performance and take appropriate corrective action as needed to hold sales team members accountable.
  • Motivate team by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing team members.
  • Effectively self-regulate and prioritize to maintain a busy and complex work calendar.
  • Maintain a neat, tidy and organized physical and virtual workspace.
